Hardy Plumbago. A sub-shrub, which will die to the ground in winter only to reappear in late spring of the following year. This pretty plant makes mounds of glossy, olive green leaves on wiry stems at the front of a sunny or part shaded border and well cultivated soil. Flat, deep blue flowers appear towards the end of the summer in clusters and the leaves turn rich plum and purple shades before falling for the winter. Remove old growth to the ground in late spring.
Please dont panic if a plant looks different to the image on the Website. It is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just resting before it bursts into action in the coming season.
Plants do look very different throughout the year. Particularly in winter, many shrubs will look rather bare and stick-like and perennial plants may not even be showing through the soil.
