COLOUR YOUR GARDEN Stand GPF/16 in the Great Pavilion
22-26 May 2007
Notcutts garden for the 2007 Chelsea Flower Show is based on Colour Combinations, showing
foliage and flowering plants of contrasting colours, displayed together in small garden
settings. The show will also be used to showcase two of our Nursery's specialities:
Mattocks Roses and Waterers Ericaceous.
Notcutts Landscapes Director, Jason Lock, has designed this years' exhibit, assisted
by Chris Deakin, one of our Senior Designers, based in Woodbridge. Jason has been responsible
for the design and staging of Notcutts exhibits since 1998 and so has a wealth of experience
in what it takes to make an eye-catching display.
The exhibit makes use of long vistas through the planting, along tranquil formal water
features and through spectacular arches clad with colourful climbers.
Classical urns are used to punctuate the planting scheme and create focal points to draw
the eye into other areas and tempt the viewer to investigate further.
Mattocks Roses will have their own dedicated part of the exhibit to show the range of
forms and colours available. Full details of the range, together with other useful information
can be found at www.mattocks.co.uk
The Waterers brand covers ericaceous species such as Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias
and draws upon over 175 years of expertise to bring the customer the very best in healthy
and vibrant stock, backed up with informative labelling and a new website www.waterersnursery.co.uk
Some of the new plants that we will be displaying on our stand this year are:

Rose 'The Wren' - A Floribunda variety with medium-sized, full, slightly old-English
style soft pink blooms that are slightly fragranced. Repeat flowering. This variety
has glossy mid-green leaves and has excellent resistance to common garden diseases
Grows
to 80cm tall. Named to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the formation of the WRNS.

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Zorro' - a new award-winning variety with stunning,
almost jet black stems that are a perfect foil for bright blue flowers and mid-green
foliage. (Flower colour will change depending on the soil type).

Physocarpus opulifolius 'Summer Wine' - attractive wine-coloured foliage
is a feature of this plant, coupled with a dense, compact habit, drawing the best from
both parents ('Nana' and 'Diabolo'). White button-like blooms
appear in Spring. Grows to 1.5 x 1.5m.
In addition to our plant launches, we are also using the opportunity offered by Chelsea,
to help The Dauntless Association to celebrate 90 years since the formation of the WRNS
in the First World War. Some details about The Dauntless Association are included in
our Chelsea leaflet, available on our exhibit.
