CHEF - Ashton Park

Our Restaurants are an important part of our centres and a significant reason for our customers to visit us. We aim to produce tempting, home cooked, quality dishes with an emphasis on traditional British fare.

We are currently looking for a talented Chef to join our Kitchen team in our Ashton Park Garden Centre restaurant.

The successful candidate must have experience of working in a fast paced commercial kitchen and be able to deliver food made from scratch to the highest standards. The role offers hours of work most Chefs can only dream of! 30 hours per week, working alternate weekends, no late nights or split shifts, working in great environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a desire to develop or looking to gain some work life balance back.

OUTDOOR SECTION HEAD - booker
We have a position available as Outdoor Section Head working within the outdoor area of our Booker Garden Centre.

As the Outdoor Section Head you report into the Outdoor Manager and will have responsibilities within the outdoor department, making effective use of resources to ensure high standards of customer service, minimised wastage and maximised profits.

Successful candidates will have proven experience of managing in a retail environment, a good level of plant/horticultural knowledge, commercial awareness and analytical skills matched by their ability to manage and motivate a successful team of which they can be proud.

This is a full time position working 40 hours per week averaged over a two week working pattern including bank holidays and weekends.

INDOOR MANAGER (NON GARDENING) FIXED TERM MATERNITY COVER - booker
At Notcutts Booker, we are looking for the ideal person to take on the role of Indoor Manager. You will be responsible for Indoor categories, including books, food, clothing, footwear, calendars, puzzles, games, craft, fuel and all Gifts & Home décor departments. Making effective use of resources you will ensure high retail standards and customer service, controlled wastage, shrinkage and maximized profits.

As part of the Notcutts team this would mean you have the desire to please our customers, lead a team into delivering their best in whatever they do and enjoy being part of the greatest team they know. If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you. As the Indoor Manager you will be a key member of the management team in the Garden Centre, supporting the General Manager to ensure that the Centre maintains its reputation for providing first class service, whilst improving profitability in this commercial environment.

Specific responsibilities include deputising in the General Manager’s absence, stock management, customer service, financial performance and health and safety.

Successful candidates will have proven experience of managing in a retail environment, a high level of visual merchandising skills, commercial awareness and analytical skills matched by their ability to manage and motivate a successful team of which they can be proud.

STOCK CONTROLLER - booker
We currently have a vacancy for a Stock Controller to join our team in the Garden Centre at Booker.

Specific responsibilities include stock management, maintaining accurate and integral price/stock files, booking stock onto our dedicated system, ensuring speedy delivery within the store, managing stock wastage and transfers to other Notcutts Centres. The successful candidate will be required to provide some cover to the tills, and goods in, therefore a forklift license would be advantageous but not essential.

Experience in a similar role is a preferred but not essential as full training will be given.

This is a full time role (40 hours) working on a rota basis and will include working alternate weekends and bank holidays. Benefits include colleague discount, uniform, company pension, free car parking and EAP programme.

RESTAURANT OPERATIONS MANAGER - SOUTH - Head Office
We are looking to recruit a Restaurant Operations Manager looking after our Southern Region. Reporting to an Operations Director, they will be responsible for the successful day to day performance of restaurants measured by sales profit and service objectives. They will support with delivering a high quality restaurant experience for all customers through effective management of existing operations and roll out of redevelopments.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of multi-site hospitality management, financial and commercial acumen, a working knowledge of relevant Hygiene and Safety legislation and experience of coaching and leading teams in similar high volume retail environment.

The successful candidate will have an ability to confidently communicate, have strong numeracy skills with a proven sales ability. They will also need horticultural knowledge.
