Penstemons are without doubt one of the most admired garden plants at this time of year, and deservedly so. Their abundance of striking flowers come a time when some plants are beginning to surrender to the heat of the summer and so they are particularly welcome.

Butterflies are probably the most beautiful of all the visitors that come calling to our gardens and even the smallest plot can provide valuable food and shelter to attract them. This year we’ve seen plenty in our wildlife garden, constructed a few weeks ago it incorporates lots of plants rich in nectar which the butterflies need to go about their busy lives.
