Know your Onions It's really beginning to feel like Spring is just around the corner now and we've seen lots of gardeners in the garden centre who can't wait to roll their sleeves up and get cracking in the garden. Judging by the amount of interest being shown in growing your own vegetables right now, it seems some gardeners are already getting into action in their vegetable plots and what better crop to get started with than an early planting of onion sets.   Best New Vegetables With many people's minds on reducing food miles and obtaining vegetables as fresh as possible, more and more gardeners are turning to growing their own. So far this year the demand for vegetable seeds has been the highest that any of us can remember and that's all set to reach an all time high in the Spring. Camellias February is a great month of anticipation for the gardener, as the home straight of winter comes into view and our thoughts and activities focus towards the exciting seasons ahead. Spring is Around the Corner! The promise of Spring isn't far away now and already things are beginning to stir in the garden. Sunny days will encourage more of the early Spring flowering bulbs, such as Snowdrops, Cyclamen coum and early Crocus, to burst into colour. We've been lucky enough to see some of them already, but there's still plenty to come.
