Easter 2005
With the Easter holidays fast approaching, we’ll all be
keeping our fingers crossed for some super weather so we can enjoy
our gardens. The Easter break marks the beginning of the gardening
season for many people (although there’s still a few of
us who keep going whatever the weather!) and there will be plenty
of enthusiasm to get everyone’s fingers dirty.

Herbs
Herbs are without doubt, one of the most rewarding plants to grow.
True, many of them may lack the razzmatazz of such bloomers as
the rose or the dahlia, but there’s so much more to be said
for having a constant supply of natural flavourings at your finger
tips. It still surprises me that so many gardeners continue to
ignore this enormously valuable group of plants, especially when
they are generally so easy to grow.

Explore
the World of Orchids
Mothers Day is fast approaching and many people’s thoughts
will be turning towards houseplants as the ideal gifts. Be adventurous
this year and explore some of the many different orchids which
should be available.

Get to know your Onions
Have you started planning which vegetables to grow this year?
Whilst it may still seem a little early to get into the vegetable
plot, it won’t be long before sowing and planting time arrives,
so better get prepared and start planning.

MARCH INTO THE GARDEN
March is a very exciting, although unpredictable
month within the garden, but weather-permitting sees the start
of great activity, both with ourselves and the awakening foliage
and blooms that announce that spring is on the way.
