Curcuma Siam Splash - 14cm

This summer blooming diva sometimes referred to as ornamental ginger, enjoys well-lit spots. The stunning dark purple petal tips complement the touch of purple along the centre of each leaf. Placing it next to a window where it continuously blooms to this beautiful ornament, it is a timeless gift that will spice up your days. Siam splash functions well as an accent plant in any room as long as it receives plenty in indirect light. Curcuma are one of those tropical natives that are evocative and memorable in their stunning appearance with blooms that last long for up to two months.

Plant care

How much sun: A combination of either partial shade or full sun. Avoid too much sun as it will scorch/discolour the leaves.

Where to place: Place it in a spot near a window or position it in a nice spot where it can receive some bright light.

Temperature & Humidity: Cucuma Siam requires warmer temperatures between 68° F and 80° F. Has low tolerance to drastic temperature drops. Normal household humidity is ideal. High humidity will encourage powdery mildew. Avoid misting the plant parts.

Watering: Water when the soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering as it may lead to root rot. Frequently water plants placed in a well-lit spot unlike those in darker spots.

Plant Nutrition: A potassium-rich fertilizer can be applied every two weeks during festivities to achieve longer blooming periods. Alternatively, apply standard fertilizers on a monthly basis for foliage growth as desired.

Toxicity: Toxic to cats and dogs.
