Plant care

How much sun: Part shade, direct sun will scorch the leaves or cause leaf drop

Where to place:  Place Medinilla plant in a well-lit spot that receives bright indirect light away from direct sun that may scorch the leaves

Temperature & Humidity:  Medinilla’s thrive best in a temperature range of 20°C to 24°C degrees Celsius. Temperatures below 10 degrees may cause yellowing of leaves or leaf drop.

Watering:  Water thoroughly once a week since Medinilla’s being succulents do not need to be watered often as this may cause basal/root rot. It does enjoy being misted by water often, especially in the dry winter months.

Plant Nutrition: The Medinilla is a light feeder. Often, feeding with liquid Houseplant feed will provide the plants all the nutrients they need or apply half-strength high-phosphorous fertilizer fortnightly in spring through to autumn. Avoid excessive nitrogen supply as this will cause the plant to produce lush foliage at the expense of the blossoms.

Toxicity: Not known to be poisonous when consumed by pets and humans. Consumption of large amounts may lead to nausea and vomiting.
