Epipremnum aureum is a popular evergreen climber that features leathery, heart-shaped green leaves speckled with yellow and cream hues with freely cascading stems emerging from aerial roots with great air purification abilities. Commonly referred to as Money plant, Golden Pothos, or Devil’s Ivy, Epipremnum aureum boasts of its stylish and elegant appearance as it gently trails down from the hanging basket or it can be trained to climb. ‘Epipremnum’ means on trees which is ideally the plant’s growth habit while ‘aureum’ refers to its golden-yellow foliage. Golden pothos is a perfect selection for an office as it thrives under fluorescent light. They are easy to care for vines and great air purifiers that create an exotic tropical paradise indoors. They can be easily trained to climb a moss stick or trellis. Symbolic for prosperity and good luck, the name money plant was used as its leaves take a round, flat, heart-shaped form that resembles coins. Its strength and beauty lie in its leaves and growth habit that portrays positive energy and elegance. It’s a perfect gift that is believed to translate to wealth.
