Plant care

How much sun: Either or a combination of full sun and partial shade.

Where to place: Place in the brightest and warmest areas of the room. Avoid direct sun rays as they can kill the leaves plant cells which eventually can kill the Ficus. If placed in a dark corner, the plant will be subjected to stunted growth.

Temperature & Humidity: 'Abidjan’ does well in warm temperatures between 16° C and 24° C and has no specific humidity requirements. But it does well when the humidity levels are between 40% - 50%.

Watering: Ensure that the soil has a little moisture at all times. Water when the soil’s top layer shows signs of drying. Overwatering may cause a leaf drop.

Plant Nutrition: Apply liquid fertilizer on a weekly or bi-weekly basis during the growing season.

Toxicity: Keep out of reach from children and pets as the latex in the sap is poisonous to both. The allergens in the plant may cause asthma symptoms.
