Thomas A Becket is a David Austin rose that has a different character from the other English Roses, being more similar to the Species Roses and having a more natural, shrubby growth. It’s named after Canterbury Cathedral. The individual flowers of this rose bloom into shallowly cupped, informal rosettes, with petals that quickly reflex with age. The bold crimson-red colour is accompanied with a medium strength fragrance of Old Rose that has hints of lemon zest. The rose bush grows into an informal yet strong shrub.
Please note that your plant may look different to the image on the website. It is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just ‘resting’ before it bursts into action in the coming season. Plants do look very different throughout the year. Particularly in winter, many shrubs will look rather bare and stick-like and perennial plants may not even be showing through the soil. We are passionate about roses. Which is why we are proud to stock roses from David Austin, renowned worldwide.
