Prostanthera ovalifolia Variegata also known as Australian Mint Bush. A bushy evergreen shrub with oval, mint-scented variegated leaves & pink-purple spring blooms. Best in a greenhouse or in a pot on a sunny, sheltered patio so it can be moved indoors in winter. Not commonly used as a culinary herb but the fresh mint-flavoured leaves make a refreshing tea added to boiling water.

Planting: Suitable for moist, but well drained soil. Water plant thoroughly before planting. Plant in a hole large enough to avoid disturbing the roots and refill the hole.

Plant Care: Protect from frost in winter. A light trim after flowering will rejuvenate the foliage.
