A kitchen must-have, Garcua Garlic is a vigorous, soft neck garlic that swells into large, globe-shaped bulbs with well-formed oval cloves. It stores well and will provide plenty of punch to your culinary dishes. Expect approximately 15 cloves per bulb.

Garlic requires a free-draining, fertile soil in a sunny position. Thoroughly dig over the site with a fork, removing any weeds. Adding a general fertiliser will improve yields.

Mark out a row using a string line or cane. Break the garlic into cloves and plant 3cm/1? deep and 10cm/4? apart along the row. Keep the soil moist during the growing period. Remove any weeds which otherwise will compete with the garlic for food and water.

In mid summer, the leaves will start to die down. Lift the garlic out of the soil and leave on the surface to ripen for a few days. When dry, store in a light airy position, that is dry and frost free.

As well as making an excellent addition to your culinary dishes, an additional benefit of growing Garlic is that it is said to deter many garden pests.
