Evergreen box, with its small, closely packed leaves, is the perfect plant for making dwarf boundary hedges and edging as well as taller, more substantial barrier hedges. Buxus is also a brilliant shrub for training into all manner of topiary shapes – from simple balls, cones and pyramids to just about whatever your imagination can think of – to give your garden structure, interest and fun.
